Description
Split-face red granite for the surface of the heater. The warm reddish tone reads well against light aspen and against black steel, and it is the cheapest way to change the character of a heater you already own.
Decorative use only. Pile loosely on top of a full charge of traditional stones — one box per heater — keeping clear of the elements so air still moves through. Granite is less durable under repeated thermal shock than olivine diabase and may craze or lose colour over time; that is expected on a surface stone.
Works as a top layer on both electric heaters and wood-burning stoves.
