Description
Olivine diabase heat-treated at roughly 1000 °C. This is the stone for a heater that runs hard — a sauna used daily, a rental, or a commercial room — where ordinary stone starts to crack and crumble inside a couple of seasons.
The heat treatment is what buys the service life: it stabilises the stone against the thermal shock of cold water on a 400 °F surface. Micropores release moisture gradually, which is why Elite Pro gives a noticeably softer steam than untreated split-face rock.
Costs more per box than standard vulcanite and is worth it only if the sauna is genuinely in heavy use. For a family sauna heated once or twice a week, the AC3040 is the sensible buy.
