Manufacturing Quality
With over 11 years of experience, Eco Hearth operates as a European manufacturer focused on craftsmanship, precision, and full in-house production. We monitor every stage, from selecting raw timber to final assembly, ensuring consistent durability, refined finishing, and long-lasting performance in every sauna.
What is Thermally Modified Wood
For our saunas, we use thermally modified wood — timber that undergoes heat treatment without chemicals. The process involves slowly “baking” the wood in a kiln at 215 °C for 5 days. The result:
- Increased strength and stability of the wood
- Enhanced resistance to decay and moisture
- Reduced tendency to warp or shrink
- Beautiful natural appearance preserved for decades
This ensures your sauna will look as good in 30 years as it does on the first day. That’s the whole point of natural wood done right — you invest once and get decades of use, not a cabin that greys, cracks and needs replacing in a few seasons. ThermoWood holds its strength and its looks, so your investment keeps paying off year after year.
Single-Wall ThermoWood Construction — engineered to work together
This is a single-wall sauna built entirely from 40 mm solid thermally modified wood. Thermal modification makes the timber denser and drier, with lower thermal conductivity than untreated wood — so the walls heat up, hold warmth, and release it gently back into the room, while breathing naturally and staying dry.
Most heat in any sauna is lost through glazing and gaps, not through the walls. That’s why we pair the ThermoWood body with a double-glazed panoramic window and a tempered glass door that seal the warmth inside, with the heater sized to the room’s volume for fast, steady heat. The result is a rare balance: solid ThermoWood durability, genuine heat retention, and a structure light enough to assemble in a single day.
Panel (Modular) Assembly
The sauna is assembled from ready-made vertical panels that simply stand up and connect together — it is NOT built board by board like most competitors. Each large panel is pre-made, so the whole structure goes together quickly and predictably.
No saw, no cutting — just stand the panels up and screw them together. One or two people can assemble it in a single day. It goes together as easily as flat-pack furniture (think IKEA) — an assembly kit, not a hardcore DIY project.
Tools you need:
- Drill-driver
- Spirit level
Heating Options
You can choose between a wood-burning heater, natural steam, chimney included and stones provided, or an electric heater, fast and even heating, Wi-Fi control for scheduling and temperature adjustment, also supplied with stones, whichever suits your lifestyle best.
Panoramic Window
A large double-glazed panoramic window fills the interior with natural light and opens the view to your garden, while the insulated glazing keeps the heat inside.
